The Alberta Aids to Daily Living (AADL) Program supports this vision by helping Albertans with long-term disabilities and/or chronic or terminal illnesses to maintain their independence at home and in the community by providing financial assistance to buy medical equipment and supplies. The AADL Program provides assistance to over 87,000 Albertans.

Here is an opportunity to progress your career and play an important role in helping vulnerable Albertans maintain their independence through the provision of basic medical equipment and/or supplies. The Alberta Aids to Daily Living (AADL) Program is looking for an individual to take a leadership role to effectively deliver the mobility and large equipment benefits and work to:

  • Develop policy for mobility and equipment eligibility criteria
  • Define service and product equipment standards
  • Advise on best practices
  • Proactively identify and resolve staffing and program issues
  • Develop project budgets and approved product listings
  • Provide expertise and support to internal and external stakeholders
  • Develop and participate in complex programs and projects in the area of health related supports

Your success in this role will be dependent on your extensive knowledge of policy development and planning process, as well as your broad knowledge of emerging health issues, best practices, strategies and theories related to chronic diseases and disabilities. Your demonstrated policy analysis, research and program evaluation abilities along with well-developed consultation and communication skills will be essential in developing positive relationships with key stakeholders.

Salary: $2,823.45-$3,799.55 bi-weekly ($73,692-$99,168 annually).

Qualifications: A health related University degree with a minimum of three years of progressively responsible experience in the physical therapy and/or occupational therapy fields is required. Experience with project management and stakeholder consultation is an asset. Related experience working with medical equipment and supplies for persons with chronic diseases and/or disabilities is desirable. Equivalencies will be considered.

Notes: Final candidates for this position will be required to undergo security clearance. Candidates with lesser qualifications may be considered at a lower level. This competition may be used to fill current and future vacancies across the Government of Alberta. This temporary opportunity is expected to expire in April 2013.
