The School of Occupational Therapy ( seeks an academic colleague for a limited-term position (one-year) at the rank of Assistant Professor in the School of Occupational Therapy. The School of Occupational Therapy is one of six Schools in a progressive Faculty of Health Sciences. Candidates must have a Ph.D. degree and be registered or eligible for registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario (COTO).  The successful candidate will have expertise in the content areas of paediatrics, physical disabilities, mental health and/or professional practice, in the field of occupational therapy and/or occupational science. Additional consideration will be granted for members with proficiency related to Canada’s indigenous populations.

Responsibilities will include: teaching assigned courses in the School of Occupational Therapy, and/or the Health and Rehabilitation Sciences Graduate Program, and/or the School of Health Studies as well as research and service within the School of Occupational Therapy.

The accredited School of Occupational Therapy is recognized nationally and internationally for leadership in occupational therapy, driving rehabilitation and occupational science. The School is committed to the development of occupational therapy as a science driven, evidenced informed, and occupation focused academic discipline with an established masters (MScOT) entry-level professional program.  The School has excellent teaching and research facilities as well as clinical and community facilities to support the development of occupational therapy. The School is a major contributor to the MSc and PhD programs in Health and Rehabilitation Sciences. In partnership with the Graduate Program in Health and Rehabilitation Sciences, the School of Occupational Therapy is the first Canadian program that provides an opportunity to pursue graduate education in Occupational Science and obtain combined MScOT/PhD degrees.
