OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST

 

Fort Vermilion School Division is accepting applications for a full-time Occupational Therapist (1.0 FTE) to provide services in schools within the Northern Lights Regional Collaborative Service Delivery region. The Occupational Therapist will work in a collaborative interdisciplinary team that provides specialized services within inclusive school environments. Other team members include a physical therapist, speech language pathologist, diverse learning coordinator, educational psychologist, as well as consultants for students who are deaf and hard of hearing/blind and visually impaired. This dynamic team provides assessment, programming, in-service and assistive technology consultation support for students with diverse learning needs. Travel throughout the region is required.

 

Ideal candidates will possess the following qualifications and characteristics:
  • Eligibility for membership with ACOT and/or CAOT required
  • Minimum 3 years’ pediatric experience
  • Experience in clinical assessment
  • Experience working within a team environment
  • Strong understanding of an educational setting and inclusion
  • Ability to establish rapport with students and their families
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and collaborative skills
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle required
  • Understanding of local cultures an asset
  • Knowledge of schools within the RCSD region and community agencies an asset
  • Must be eligible to work in Canada
Salary Range and Work Year:
  • Salary up to $75,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience
  • Maximum of 200 days around the operational days within the school year calendar
  • Benefits package applicable upon successful completion of a three-month probationary period
  • Start date: Negotiable
