Opportunity: Health & Disability Specialist – 9 Month Contract

We are hiring for a bilingual Health & Disability Specialist – 9 Month Contract in our Ottawa office.
Responsibilities:
The primary responsibility of the successful candidate will be to co-ordinate the delivery of occupational and non-occupational disability management services to CIG clients. The Specialist reports to the Supervisor, Health & Disability and supports Ottawa Office Consultants in their efforts to extend Disability Management services to CIG clients.
Qualifications:
- Registered Nurse licensed by the College of Nurses of Ontario, with additional training in occupational health, preferably with accreditation as an Occupational Health Nurse, or an Occupational Therapist or any other Health related qualifications;
- Five years of experience with claims management in group disability benefits and Workplace Safety and Insurance legislation;
- Experience in return to work programs;
- Knowledge of pertinent legislations;
- Experience in ergonomic evaluations and/or physical demands job analyses would be an asset;
- Superior verbal and in written communication skills in English and French;
- In-depth knowledge of software such as Word, Excel and Power Point;
- Ability to work with different groups such as employers, union representatives and health care workers;
- Ability to define problems, manage information, perform analysis and propose pertinent solutions;
