1. Do I need to be a CAOT member to participate?
All CAOT Lunch & Learns are available to both CAOT members and non-members.
Water Cooler Talks are exclusive to CAOT members.

2. What is the difference between a Lunch & Learn and a Water Cooler Talk?
Lunch & Learn presentations are offered on a variety of topics for your professional development.
Water Cooler Talks are exclusive to CAOT members and are usually presented by CAOT staff to deliver information on CAOT projects, updates and initiatives.
3. What is the cost to register for a Lunch & Learn and Water Cooler Talk?
Individual registrations for Lunch & Learns are available at $50 for members, $75 for non-members (plus GST/HST).
Group registrations are available for up to 25 individuals for $250 for members, $375 for non-members (plus GST/HST).
For groups larger than 25 you may register multiple times to ensure all individuals are recognized for their participation.
Upon request, registrants attending the webinar may receive access to the archive; individual registrants may receive a web link to the archive and group registrants a CD copy of the archive.
Individual registration for Water Cooler Talks is availble to CAOT members and is free of charge, in order to request their participation the member must login online to register.
4. What is included in a group registration?
One individual may register on behalf of a group of up to 25 individuals.
The registrant must send an email to education@caot.ca with the full names of attendees prior to the event.
Upon request of the registrant, personalized certificates for each attendee may be issued.
5. What do I need to participate in the webinar?
Webinars are web-supported teleconferences, meaning that they are conducted online. Participants will require a hi-speed internet connection and an Adobe Flash enabled device with Flash player 10.1 or later to connect to the webinar platform. 6. How long is each session?
Unless specified otherwise, all Lunch & Learns and Water Cooler Talks are one hour in length and include a 10-15 minute question and answer period.
7. Is there a maximum number of registrants for each session?
There is a maximum of 95 registrants for all Lunch & Learns and Water Cooler Talks; unless otherwise specified.
8. Can I register after the registration deadline?
No. Registration for all Lunch & Learns and Water Cooler Talks is closed one week prior to each presentation. Please use the advertised deadline for each session as a guideline.
9. Are the webinars offered in English or in French?
Webinars are offered in the language in which they are advertised.
10. How do I register?
Registration for a Lunch & Learn can be completed online from the selected webinar page on the CAOT website, the fee payment can be made by using Visa or Mastercard.
Registration for a Water Cooler Talk is availble to CAOT members only and is free of charge, in order to request their participation the member must login online to register.

11. What is the refund policy?
All refund requests must be sent in writing to CAOT National Office. Requests received prior to the webinar registration deadline will be given a 50% refund. No refunds will be granted after the registration deadline of the webinar. Webinars may be cancelled if there are insufficient number of registrants. CAOT reserves the right to cancel or modify all events.
12. What if I cannot attend to session live?
Lunch & Learn sessions will be recorded and available for purchase at a cost of $50 for CAOT members and $75 for non-members.
CAOT Water Cooler Talks are recorded and are available in the Water Cooler Talk Archive under the 'Members Only' section.
13. How do I obtain a certificate of attendance for my professional development portfolio?
Certificates of attendance are sent via email only upon request. Participants must email their request to education@caot.ca and provide their full names and the name of the webinar that they attended. Only those who have registered for the session can request a certificate.
For group registrations, the registrant must contact education@caot.ca on behalf of their group and provide the names of the participants.
14. When will I receive webinar login information?
Login details are sent out via email one week prior to the webinar, and a reminder email is sent the day before the webinar. Participants should check their email accounts regularly to ensure they have received all the necessary information. You can update your email address on the CAOT website by logging in using your CAOT membership number and updating your profile. Registrants must log in to the education platform using the name and email address used in their registration.
15. Will I receive handouts prior to the session?
A PDF copy of the presentation slides are sent to the registrants one week prior to the webinar in the handout form. You may print a copy of these handouts prior to the session if you wish to take notes during the presentation.
16. I’m not participating within Eastern Standard/Daylight Time (EST/EDT) – what time will the webinar be occurring where I am?
Please refer to the Canadian time zones listed below:
Newfoundland Standard Time: 1:30-2:30pm
Atlantic Standard Time: 1:00-2:00pm
Eastern Standard Time: 12:00-1:00pm
Central Standard Time: 11:00-12:00pm
Mountain Standard Time: 10:00-11:00am
Pacific Standard Time: 9:00-10:00am
17. Are webinars open to students?
Students are welcome to participate in all webinars.
16. What should I do if I encounter technical difficulties during the webinar?
If you have difficulties or if you are unable to access the web prior to the meeting, please email education@caot.ca or call 1-800-434-2268 ext 231.
