Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists

CAOT Professional Issue Forums (PIFs)

Each year at the CAOT Conference, Professional Issue Forums are presented to address priority health and social issues, and emerging practice areas in occupational therapy.  The PIFS allow CAOT to consult with occupational therapists and stakeholders to inform the development of a CAOT position statement in a particular subject area. CAOT strives for a broad stakeholder involvement in the PIFs, which include professional groups, consumers, governments and non-government organizations.

Professional Issue Forum reports describe the objectives, presentations and roundtable discussions. CAOT Position Statements are developed from the reports, which are published in the Canadian Journal of Occupational Therapy each spring and are posted on this website.
