COTF welcomes new Publication Review Committee
COTF welcomes Anne Strock from the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg as the Chair of the Publication Grants Review Committee. Anne is Education Systems and Research Coordinator in the Occupational Therapy Department at the Centre and has had extensive involvement in the occupational therapy programs at the Universities of Manitoba and Western Ontario.

Joining Anne as committee members are Natalie MacLeod Schroeder, Clinical Specialist in Child Health at the Winnipeg Health Sciences Centre and Theresa Sullivan, Academic Fieldwork Coordinator in the Division of Occupational Therapy at the University of Manitoba.

The Foundation sincerely thanks outgoing Chair, Catherine Backman and committee members Mary Clark Green and Lyle Brydon for their lengthy and effective service to COTF.

Conference Grant Writing Forum
Thursday, May 24 10:30 am - 11:30 am

Attend COTF's Grant Writing Forum at the CAOT Back to the Future Conference in Calgary, May 24 - 26. Presenters Jeff Jutai (Chair, Grants and Research Committee) and Anne Carswell (Out-going Chair, COTF Research and Scholarship Review Committee) will look at the ingredients of a grant proposal and draw upon the COTF experience to give concrete examples. This is a "don't miss" event for novice scholars and researchers!

CAOT professional insurance program benefits COTF
Did you know that when you purchase professional insurance through CAOT you are actually supporting COTF fundraising? Insurance provider Willis Canada makes an annual donation to COTF of a percentage of its sales to occupational therapists. In December 2000, COTF received a cheque for $12,052 from Willis Canada in appreciation of your business.

CAOT - our sustaining partner
New members of CAOT may not be aware that the Association was instrumental in launching the Foundation in 1983 and has provided an annual operating grant in recognition of the importance of research and scholarship to the advancement of the profession. In 2000 that grant totalled $100,000. COTF sincerely thanks the CAOT for its commitment to the Foundation as evidenced through the sustaining funding it provides.

COTF Fundraising Campaign Continues
In November, COTF launched a campaign to raise funds for research, scholarship and publication opportunities for occupational therapists.

You too can help build the future of occupational therapy by donating generously to COTF's campaign.

To make a donation, mail your cheque to COTF at 207 - 150 Eglinton Avenue East, Toronto ON, M4P 1E8. COTF can also accept donations made by Visa or Mastercard. All donations are tax-deductible and will be receipted.
