What better place to grow through occupation both professionally and personally than in a place steeped in history and adventure - Saint John, New Brunswick. "The Fundy City" with many natural wonders at its doorstep and non-stop city activity - offers endless possibilities. The Fundy City is the gateway to the Bay of Fundy and its spectacular sites and adventures.

Whale watching, nature walking, theatre, music, exploring the past, whatever your occupation, it all begins here: the City of Saint John. If your occupation of choice is to engage in adventure, Saint John offers many different ways to go about this. At Reversing Falls you can ride a jet boat over a natural phenomenon in action as the Saint John River is forced by the Fundy tide to reverse its natural flow. The Bay of Fundy is also ideal for sailing, canoeing, kayaking and the Saint John harbor cruise. If you would prefer an occupation that involves connecting with nature, the Irving Nature Park is the perfect place to experience the highest tides in the world, plus marvel at harbor seals, porpoises and 248 species of birds. Saint John is also home to Rockwood Park, which is the largest park in Canada that is entirely contained within a city. Thirteen fresh water lakes, sandy beaches, camping, golf, hiking trails and more.
On the outskirts of Saint John you can hop on the Fundy Trail. One of the last remaining coastal wilderness areas in North America is now accessible via the Fundy Trail Parkway, only 45 minutes from Saint John.

If exploring the past is an occupation you find enjoyable, witness a blend of old world tradition and new century style with a walking tour of the oldest incorporated city in Canada. Explore the charm and character of the historic old city market (the oldest continuing farmer's market in the country), or journey through the streets of a city steeped in a proud loyalist heritage.

Saint John has over 200 years of loyalist history. The spirit of the past can be seen everywhere. Tour the old burial ground or explore the Loyalist House, a living reminder of the city's strong loyalist heritage. Visit the Barbour's General Store, an authentic reproduction of a 19th century country store, or begin your adventure with an invigorating historic walking tour through the uptown streets of Saint John.

Saint John also has the New Brunswick Museum, which is the oldest continuing museum in Canada. Watch as 350 million years of natural history unfold before your eyes.

If the arts are your passion or occupation of choice, visit the Imperial Theatre that has recently been restored to its original 1913 splendor. Performances include everything from classical music to live theatre.

Saint John is located on the Bay of Fundy. It is a 90-minute drive to the US border at Calais, Maine, an eight-hour drive to Boston and a ten-hour drive from Montreal.

The NBAOT and CAOT eagerly await to welcome you as we experience "growing through occupation" in Saint John, New Brunswick, May 26-28.

Let's grow together!
