Occupational Therapist
Limited Term Position

Academic life in a vibrant, small city on Canada’s East Coast 

Applications are invited for a 3 year Limited Term Position at the Assistant Professor level in the School of Occupational Therapy starting April 1, 2013 (pending budgetary approval). This is an academic position that encompasses teaching, research and administration. Masters level teaching and student supervision will be essential; other teaching and fieldwork supervision may be required. Administrative and research workload will be dependent on background and needs of the School. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

An occupational therapy qualification and a completed PhD are essential. Eligibility for licensure with the College of Occupational Therapists of Nova Scotia is required. The ideal candidate will have:

• professional expertise to teach core competencies of occupational therapy practice ie: will be able to teach the knowledge, skills, and professional behaviours of enabling occupation;
• teaching experience including course development and management; and
• ability to contribute to the research culture of the School.

The School is committed to social action, innovative teaching and dynamic research in an integrated team environment. Faculty interests and research are focused on four themes: chronic condition self-management; diversity, inclusion and health inequalities; measuring and documenting everyday outcomes; and aging and continuing care. A research contribution to at least one of these themes will be expected.
