This webinar will outline the International Dysphagia Diet Standardisation Initiative (IDDSI) Framework; a global standard of dysphagia diet terminology and definitions to improve safety for individuals with dysphagia. The evidence-based process for developing the framework will be described along with framework specifics. Simple and practical IDDSI testing methods, along with implementation ideas and resources will be shared.  Implementation of the framework is occurring across Canada in practice settings from pediatric to geriatric. After taking part in this webinar, participants will:

1. State the rationale for using common terminology and definitions in dysphagia practice.
2. Recognize the various aspects of the IDDSI framework and how it can be applied in clinical practice
3. Apply IDDSI testing methods when working with individuals with dysphagia
4. Identify resources that are available for use when implementing the IDDSI framework into clinical practice
