Neurodegenerative movement disorders: Assessment and intervention (November 30, 2021)

Treating neurodegenerative movement disorders can be daunting for many clinicians. By categorizing these conditions into "buckets" by pathophysiology and clinical features, attendees can relate and explain why some treatments work and others do not. This presentation offers a tool for understanding these diagnoses to build confidence in effective evidence-based treatment.

This webinar will discuss a framework in which to think of neurogenerative movement disorders to better understand the treatment of these conditions. We utilize the pathophysiology to group similar conditions and explain why these treatments work for that group. We will be addressing ALS and other motor neuron disorders, GBS (CIDP and AIDP), MS, PD and Huntington's.

After taking part in this webinar, participants will be able to: 

1. Differentiate the key pathophysiological and clinical features of common neurogenerative movement disorders.
2. Identify shared features of these conditions that affect intervention planning.
3. Integrate current evidence-based evaluation and intervention approaches of neurodegenerative movement disorders into practice.
