Managing Parkinson's Disease - Web Link Access

While the cardinal motor features of Parkinson's disease dominate the clinical presentation, many individuals with Parkinson's also experience several non-motoric concerns. This webinar will highlight the typical clinical presentation of Parkinson's disease and common challenges faced by this clientele as they negotiate life. Clinical expertise will be drawn upon from an interdisciplinary team (including an Occupational Therapist, a Movement Disorders Neurologist and a Speech-Language Pathologist) who specialize in working with individuals with Parkinson's disease. Specific non-pharmacologic strategies to be discussed will help manage difficulties related to: freezing of gait and falls, festination, hypophonia, dysarthria, cognitive impairment and medication side effects.
