Productive Aging:Sustaining Employment for Older Adults

Productive Aging:Sustaining Employment for Older Adults

Promoting active citizenship and participation in society includes helping older people work past the legally defined retirement age. Working beyond retirement can contribute not only to the older person's health and wellbeing (Gruenewald, Liao, & Seeman, 2013) but also the economy (Van Dalen, Henkens , & Schippers , 2010). Occupational therapists have a crucial role in helping older adults stay employed as long as older adults desire. This webinar includes strategies to prolong employment and case studies to illustrate applied practice.
