Occupational Therapists work with clients to maximize functional independence. Chronic pain can severely limit participation in activities important to clients. Occupational Therapists can assist clients to identify the tools they need to be able to manage their pain successfully so that they can realize their optimal quality of life. An overview of phantom limb pain and current interventions will be presented, along with a description of the combination of two interventions - Mirror Therapy and Farabloc. The results of a study will be explored during which a combination of these two interventions was used to reduce phantom limb pain in lower-extremity amputees.
Please note that, due to technical difficulties, the purchase of the November 3, 2015 recording is in the form of an audio recording plus a presentation handout.
