Gender, Sex and Traumatic Brain Injury (March 20, 2018)

Gender, Sex and Traumatic Brain Injury (March 20, 2018)

As occupational therapists, we must consider sex and gender to be truly client centred. Policies at the federal and other jurisdictions are being evaluated for impact related to sex and gender. In this webinar, practical examples of how to integrate sex and gender into practice will be provided. We will present and discuss implications of research that addresses sex and gender in traumatic brain injury. Resources related to sex and gender analyses will also be provided.

After taking part in this webinar, participants will:

  1. Understand definitions of sex and gender.
  2. Increase awareness on how research on traumatic brain injury includes explicit consideration to sex and gender.
  3. Discuss implications for occupational therapy clinical practice.
