We received lots of great feedback on the event:
“I actually really enjoyed the virtual conference! As a student, I would have been unable to attend the conference in Saskatoon, however since it was online, I was able to attend virtual sessions around my class schedule. Thought it was well organized and easy to access the sessions that I was interested in”
"It was practically perfect given the short lead time to make the switch from live to virtual. It was just the right number of options (having too many can be overwhelming, I wouldn’t have more than 5 or 6 rooms at any one time) and this ensured a decent sized audience for presenters. Very few technical glitches, quickly overcome with support from moderators or audience members. Like the 90 minute break due to intensity of virtual viewing, enabled me to attend live for all three days. Access to recordings eased any pressure to attend knowing they’d be available.”
“Due to the need to travel, I have been unable to attend a CAOT conference in the past 5 years. I appreciated being able to attend the conference live. Through the presentations and discussions, I was able to feel connected to my colleagues even though we were all learning at a distance. It was a unique experience! I also found it to be good value, especially since I have access to watch these sessions again.”
“Fantastic! The flexibility between pre-recorded and live sessions was fantastic.”
We also heard from some of you about features you would have liked to see included and have begun to consider options for future digital events. We appreciate your patience as we learn and strive to offer an event accessible to as many people as possible.
Thank you to our Virtual Sponsors

CAOT Conference 2020 Saskatoon
We have made the difficult but necessary decision to cancel CAOT Conference 2020, May 6-9, in Saskatoon. This includes the pre-conference workshop planned for May 6. The continued rapid spread of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) prompted our public health agencies to advise against both high-density gatherings and non-essential personal travel.
Acknowledgments
CAOT would like to acknowledge the Host Committee. We thank them deeply – co-convenors Alicia Carey and Loralie Clark, social co-chairs Karin Diedrich-Closson and Debbie Waring, Accessibility Chair Melanie Coutts, and our Volunteer Chair Richelle Love. As an association, we are committed to getting back to Saskatoon for a conference.
We would also like to acknowledge the work of our Conference Scientific Program Committee(CSPC) that deliberated all last fall to sort through conference submissions and construct a multi-streamed program of the highest quality.
