Choosing coping strategies to promote engagement and recovery; an approach using Kolb's Adult Learning Model

The book, Coping strategies to promote occupational engagement and recovery, includes evidence based principles from psychotherapy, CBT, behaviour activation and mindfulness paired with Kolb’s adult learning process to promote recovery. Each module describes a manualized approach for coping strategy learning and transfer. Content is derived from four categories of coping.

This webinar will emphasize how the adult learning process promotes learning, will illustrate the need for strategies in each of four coping categories, and will summarize modules to address clinical behaviours impacting function related to four sources of stress.


After taking part in this webinar, participants will:
  1. Know the four components of Kolb’s Adult Learning Model
  2. Identify the benefit of each of four categories of coping strategies to promote recovery
  3. Match coping strategy modules from the program manual: Coping Strategies to Promote occupational Engagement and Recovery with sources of stress using case studies
