Topic: Palliation or Rehabilitation: Recovery After Therapeutic Hypothermia – Case report Presentation

Description: This case presentation will explore how the occupational therapist played a central role in assessing the patient’s neurological recovery and functional outcomes in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit.  After occupational therapy assessment and interventions, the clinical approach of the interdisciplinary team shifted from palliation to rehabilitation. Occupational therapists can play a critical role in assessing and treating patients with therapeutic hypothermia after cardiac arrest.
