Description

ON-DEMAND WEBINAR PURCHASE

Presented by: Amy Hartman

Neurologically, sleep and sensory processing are intricately linked, yet sleep health is often overlooked in current care for children and adolescents with sensory processing concerns. Occupational therapists are uniquely positioned to address sleep health concerns and should be primary players in sleep intervention.

This webinar will lay the foundation for an advanced understanding of multidimensional sleep health. The neurological underpinnings that link sleep and sensory processing in the human brain will be described. Then, the neurological and clinical characteristics that are often seen in children and adolescents with sensory processing difficulties will be aligned. Finally, a toolkit of assessment and intervention techniques for sleep health intervention specific to children with sensory processing difficulties will be built.

After taking part in this webinar, participants will be able to:

  1. Define each of the multiple dimensions of sleep health.
  2. Identify the neurological components of sleep that may be impacted for children and adolescents with sensory processing dysfunction.
  3. Apply this knowledge to develop assessment and intervention plans for children and adolescents with sensory processing difficulties.
