Introduction

This community of practice provides an opportunity for therapists to build on strengths and tackle challenges as a group, while identifying ways to support one another and advance the profession in our region. Each community has its own distinct set of priorities, opportunities, and barriers, and the Community of Practice provides an avenue to increase our awareness of these factors. Bringing this group together has identified service gaps and clinician support needs, highlighted some of the incredible work that is being done by therapists throughout Northern BC, inspired collaboration amongst therapists in different regions, and provided a platform to build on one another's successes and move forward together. In addition, it facilitates regular connection with representatives from CAOT and UBC, both of which are crucial in promoting and sustaining successful Occupational Therapy practice and education programs in Northern BC.
