Requirements
- Canadian citizen or established primary residency in Canada; and
- New or recent (within the past 4 years) Canadian or internationally educated Masters of OT graduate who has received confirmation of having successfully completed the National Occupational Therapy Certification Examination (NOTCE) *; or
- New or recent (within the past 4 years) Canadian or internationally educated Masters of OT graduate who has qualified for full registration (without restrictions) from any Canadian occupational therapy regulatory body.
- Previously registered New Practitioner Members will automatically be presented with the New Practitioner option that corresponds to their verified graduation year upon renewal.
* Please note:
- Recent graduates and IEOTs who have not yet received confirmation of having successfully passed the NOTCE, or those who plan on writing it within the year, may join CAOT as Provisional Associates.
- Occupational therapists registered to work in Quebec are not required to complete the National Occupational Therapy Certification Exam (NOTCE) to join CAOT as a New Practitioner member.
- For individuals who have not met the first criteria above, registration is contingent upon providing CAOT with documentation (within 1 month of online registration) of current or previous registration with a Canadian regulatory body (without restrictions) and proof of graduation year.
IMPORTANT
To register/renew as a New Practitioner member, login to your profile and click the “renew” button on your My Account page. From the 'Member type' drop down menu, choose 'New Practitioner' to be presented with the new practitioner fees: 
The system will then present you with the New Practitioner category fees applicable to the graduation date on your member profile. If you do not see this option, please contact membership@caot.ca to provide us with your graduation date.

| 3rd Year Practitioner | Recent Canadian or international graduate (program completion date on CAOT profile is less than three years from registration/renewal date) who has received a passing grade on the national Occupational Therapy Certification Exam (NOTCE). | $171.00 |
| 4th Year Practitioner | Recent Canadian or international graduate (program completion date on CAOT profile is less than four years from registration/renewal date) who has received a passing grade on the national Occupational Therapy Certification Exam (NOTCE). | $228.00 |
