The Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists - Saskatchewan Chapter (CAOT-SK) offers regional representation and support to occupational therapists in Saskatchewan. In addition, CAOT-SK provides services, products, events and networking opportunities to assist occupational therapists in achieving excellence in their professional practice. 

 Strategic priorities 

  • Represent the professional interests of Saskatchewan occupational therapists and occupational therapy to external stakeholders.
  • Promote occupational therapy in Saskatchewan (government and media relations, public).
  • Engage occupational therapists with CAOT-SK and the occupational therapy community. 


The CAOT-SK Regional Director is responsible for:

  • the analysis of issues which impact on occupational therapy practice across the province, and
  • overseeing the planning, coordination, implementation and evaluation of organizational activities to meet the strategic priorities for CAOT-SK.

Christine Fleming 

Christine Fleming has been actively involved in both CAOT and the Saskatchewan Society of Occupational Therapists (SSOT), for her entire career. From 1996 to 2003, Christine was on the CAOT Certification Examination Committee and continued to be involved in Item Generation workshops. She was a co-convener of CAOT Conference 2011, held in Saskatoon, and served on the SSOT Public Relations Committee and the Government Affairs Committee from 1996 to 2005. She was also the NEWSSOT editor from 1996 to 2000. In 2001, she co-chaired the SSOT Conference and AGM held in Saskatoon, and joined the SSOT Legislation and Bylaws Committee in 2006, serving as Chair of the committee from 2010 to 2015. Most recently, Christine served as the CAOT Saskatchewan Board Director from 2015-2018, and the Vice Chair from 2016-2022.  

Since graduating in 1993 from Queen’s University, Christine has worked in Saskatoon. She became the senior OT on the Geriatric Assessment Unit at Saskatoon City Hospital in 1996. Christine continued to have an active role in the evolution and expansion of geriatric services within the Saskatchewan Health Authority, Saskatoon, until her recent retirement in January 2023.

Christine is looking forward to engaging with the occupational therapists of Saskatchewan and to increasing the visibility of our profession amongst residents in her province.

CAOT-SK Advisory Committee

The CAOT-SK Advisory Committee promotes information sharing and coordinated planning on provincial issues related to occupational therapy to further the development of the profession.

The CAOT-SK Advisory Committee helps to prioritize chapter activities based on a broad spectrum of occupational therapy input.

Professional Development: CAOT-SK advances excellence in occupational therapy through collaboration with regional experts on member initiatives.

Practice Resources: Through both collaborative and selective initiatives, CAOT-SK provides members with relevant and timely resources in support of professional practice.

Networking: CAOT-SK creates opportunities for members to meet and discuss the profession’s issues.

Recognition: Members of CAOT-SK are eligible to nominate colleagues for all CAOT awards of recognition, including an award that celebrates an OT from Saskatchewan.  Award nominations are accepted year-round with a December 1st deadline.

Loralie Clark

Loralie is recognized for her leadership within the occupational therapy profession in Saskatchewan. She currently works in private practice and is providing consultation, coaching, direct services, and advocacy to various first nations in the north. She uses her time and resources to promote the profession of OT, to actively support building up individuals in their professional practice, and to enhance clients’ experiences of competent OT assessment and intervention. Loralie has been instrumental in developing resource documents relevant for most occupational therapists in the province as well as the Saskatchewan Pediatric OT practice network. The OT community in Saskatchewan has benefitted immensely from her dedication and leadership!
